There's nothing small about Slovenian food. If Slovenes have ever heard of nouvelle cuisine, they've politely listened and stuck to their old rule that a guest must never leave hungry. If Slovenian inns have large plates, it's not because they want to arrange the meal artistically, but because they want enough room for mountains of meat, sauce and potatoes.
